About The Farm
The farm first appears on maps from about 1680 when it was called Pyets Nest. Pyet is an archaic word for magpie.
The farm has 120 acres (50 Ha) of pasture and meadows between 500 and 700 feet (150 - 200m ASL). We mainly have sheep and a few cattle. We also keep a few ducks, hens & sadly the angora goats have gone to pastures new.
About Our Guests
Many of our guests are regulars who come year after year. Our longest serving guests have been coming for over 50 years.
We have seen guests from overseas travelling from as far afield as Australia, New Zealand, Japan and America as well as Europe.
Since we promote ourselves as ‘dog friendly’ many of our guests holiday here with their dogs, taking advantage of our additional facilities and rural location.
